Billy Jack Weaver – Obituary and Assessment Call

Billy Jack WeaverBilly Jack Weaver, age 75, of Coldspring, Texas, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at M.D. Anderson, Houston, Texas. He was born July 11, 1937 in Woodville, Texas to John B. and Eddie Lee Weaver who preceded him in death along with his first wife Shirley Weaver; daughter Cheryl Lewis; son-in-law Larry Peterson; and his brother Ricky Weaver. Mr. Weaver was a distinguished Veteran of the United States Army where he severed from 1957 to 1961. He was a very accomplished person in and around his community. He was a Texas State Game Warden from 1962 to 1993; Special Game Warden from 1993 to 2012; he became a member of the First Baptist Church of Coldspring in January 15, 1967; San Jacinto Water Board Member from 1987 to 2012 serving President for 23 years; San Jacinto County Fair Board Member from 1972 to 1983; Texas Rural Letter Carrier Auxiliary from 1987 to 2004; and finally supporting the youth of San Jacinto County. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and steadfast friend; he will be missed by those who loved him.

Survivors include his wife Patsy Weaver; daughter Vickie Lovings and husband Harley; step-daughters Terry Sue Owens and Lynda Darnell Ragusa; brother Carl Weaver and wife Ella, Eddy Weaver and wife Patsy; grandchildren Brian Peterson and wife Kristi, Jeffery Lewis, Kayla Peterson; one great-grandchild Colton Peterson; numerous nieces, nephews and other cherished family members and friends.

Visitation was held Thursday, March 28, 2013, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Coldspring, Texas. Dr. Don M. Shannon presided over funeral services held Friday, March 29, 2013, 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Coldspring, Texas with interment at Ebenezer Cemetery, Woodville, Texas. Pallbearers included Robert “Bob” Hall, Lacy Rogers, Dean Jones, Terry Stubblefield, John Meekins, and Dale Weiman; honorary pallbearers included Chuck Mason, Charlie Menn, Robert “Bob” Brumley, and the Deacons of First Baptist Church of Coldspring.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Mutual Association (TPW Mutual Association) regrets to inform you of the death of one of our members, Billy Jack Weaver.

Billy Jack became a member of the TPW Mutual Association formerly the Texas Game and Fish Commission Mutual Association on November 15, 1961. He retained his membership up until his death on March 26, 2013. A check in the amount of $4,920 was delivered to Mrs. Vickie L. Loving, on April 4, 2013.

An assessment in the amount of $16.00 will be necessary to bring the policy fund back into balance to have payments on hand for other members in case of death. Please make this payment by the due date listed above.
