As we travel today, we expect and frequently find a wide variety of foodstuffs, both common and exotic, to enjoy. But for travelers in the 19th century there was much less choice. When stopping at an inn like Fanthorp’s, you were not given a menu to pick and choose from. Join us as we look at what would have been the typical meal presented to travelers, as illustrated by the mock-up in the dining room today.
Presentation will be ongoing throughout the day and will last approximately thirty-five to forty minutes. This program is open to all ages but children must be accompanied by an adult. Dress appropriately for the season as the presentation takes place in a period setting. Held at Fanthorp Inn State Historic Site, 579 Main Street, Anderson, TX 77830. Program subject to cancellation.
