Presa Canyon Overnight Camping Guided Hike
This backcountry hike to the far secluded areas of the park where visitors will visit several rock art sites showing a variety of prehistoric and historic rock art styles and camp under the stars before returning the following day.

Knowledge and experience of backcountry camping recommended.
Participants must be able to hike, clamber and climb over loose material, large boulders, rough uneven ground and dense vegetation to traverse this canyon. Signing a liability release is required.
A primitive camping area is available to tent camp. Park staff will shuttle camping equipment to designated camping area. Participants are responsible for setting up/ tearing down camp and heating of their food (propane stove recommended-no fires allowed during burn bans). The following day, all camping equipment will be shuttled back to the Visitors Center, while participants hike back.
Limited to 12 experienced-only hikers, minimum of 4. Tour fee of $50.00 per person: cash, check, or money order, and/or credit card -payable to Seminole Canyon State Park & Historic Site. A Park entry fee of $3.00 person and payable to Seminole Canyon State Park & Historic Site, unless a holder of a Texas State Park Pass.
Call the Park at 432-292-4464 for more information and reservations (required). Reservations begin 30 days and end 3 days before the tour depart date. Please only sign up family/household members; larger groups must be able to provide names and phone numbers of participants at time of reservation.
Participants under the age of 18 must to be accompanied by adult or guardian. No pets and not recommended for young children (no strollers).
Tours are subject to cancellation due to weather conditions and/or limited number of participants. It is recommended to call the park prior to your trip to confirm tour.
WHERE/TIME: Meet at the Headquarters Building (museum) at 8:00 am and tour leaves promptly at 8:30 am with a return time of 2 pm the following day.
WHAT TO BRING: Plan to be overnight and outside, tent, sleeping bag, water, supper/lunch and comfortable clothes/hiking shoes.
