Angling Opportunities
Kemp’s fish populations have been adversely affected by recent golden alga fish kills. White bass are abundant in the reservoir and provide a good fight. White crappie numbers are down. Channel, blue, and flathead catfish are present in good numbers and sizes.

Fishing Cover/Structure
This lake is currently about 25% full, with very little structure in the water. Most banks are mud and much of the lake is dry. There are still some docks at least partially in the water in the Moonshine Bay area. Some cover is provided by riprap near the dam and certain rocky humps around the lake.
Tips & Tactics
Most fish species will be found near the Wichita River mouth, around Rattlesnake Island, and near the west side channels and coves. White bass can be caught on slabs throughout the reservoir in the fall.
