2007 Lone Star Land Stewards Showcase Wildlife Conservation

AUSTIN, Texas — For wildlife habitat conservation to happen on a landscape level in Texas, it will have to occur on private property, which makes up the bulk of land holdings in the state. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and Sand County Foundation are looking to recognize those who have shown exemplary efforts to manage their property as ambassadors of conservation.

AUSTIN, Texas — Rio Grande turkey hunters in the southern parts of Texas will get a two-week jump on gobblers next spring following changes in hunting regulations adopted here April 5 by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission.

New TPWD Rules Streamline Licenses

First Texas Spring Alligator Hunting Season Starts April 1

AUSTIN, Texas — For the first year in “non-core” counties outside historical alligator habitat in southeast Texas, a spring alligator hunting season will run April 1-June 30. The new regulation comes as people continue to move into alligator habitat across Texas, and state biologists try to provide more hunting opportunity and another means to proactively manage conflicts between people and alligators.
