USFWS, East Foundation Sign Safe Harbor Agreement to Aid Ocelot Recovery in Texas

AUSTIN – During an event on March 19, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and East Foundation officially approved a Programmatic Safe Harbor Agreement to aid in the recovery and reintroduction of the secretive ocelot to south Texas.

O.H. Ivie Powers Ahead with ShareLunker 669

ATHENS – O.H. Ivie added another Legacy Class ShareLunker during the final week of the 2024 Toyota ShareLunker collection season. Angler Tery Lewis of Lubbock reeled in 13.99-pound ShareLunker 669 Thursday to push O.H. Ivie’s season total to 12 and the statewide tally to 19. It proved to be the final Legacy Class entry for the 2024 collection season.

O.H. Ivie Shines Again with 11th Legacy Class ShareLunker

ATHENS – O.H. Ivie supplied yet another massive Legacy Class ShareLunker during the home stretch of the 2024 Toyota ShareLunker collection season, which ends March 31. Keith Hall of Granbury landed 13.14-pound ShareLunker 668 on Tuesday and it became the 11th Legacy Class entry for O.H. Ivie in 2024. It also raised the statewide total to 18, matching last year’s season output.

TPWD Urges Caution Around Rookery Islands to Protect Waterbird Nesting Grounds

AUSTIN — As spring weather transitions to summer and outdoor enthusiasts begin to flock to the coast, boaters will begin to see islands covered with large congregations of nesting birds. These islands, known as rookery islands, provide breeding homes (and nurseries) for thousands of iconic coastal birds such as brown pelicans, roseate spoonbills, black skimmers, reddish egrets and other species in Texas bays.

ATHENS – O.H. Ivie continued its hot streak with four more massive Legacy Class ShareLunkers in the span of four days. O.H. Ivie has now produced 10 Legacy Class entries, and this quartet of fish bumped the state total to 17 during the 2024 Toyota ShareLunker collection season.
