Primitive Backpack Campsites

  • Number of Sites: 30

There are two areas available, Moss Lake and Walnut springs (ten sites in each area). Campers must hike 1-3 miles on rugged terrain. No water is available in the primitive areas. Excess Vehicle Overnight Fee is $5 per car, per night, for over two vehicles per campsite. No ash producing fires are permitted in this area, only containerized fuel stoves that can be turned off, are allowed.

Youth Group Primitive Area

  • People per Site: 50

A primitive campground for youth adventurers, that is close to climbing, hiking and nature. This site is dedicated for youth groups to enjoy the great outdoors. The area features include dedicated parking, a private entrance, and a private camping area. Groups must hike about 1.5 miles to this area. Remember to bring water, and fires are prohibited in this area.

  • $100 non-peak price (June through August)
  • $120 peak price (September through May)
  • Hike in 1.5 miles
  • All trash must be carried out
  • Youth groups only
  • No drinking water
  • Composting toilet
